Well, kind of...The boy scouts went on a field trip to the local ESPN radio station. The boys got to be on the radio during the Galloway and Company show.
Aunt Kathy came to visit us in November. It was great to have her in Texas. While she was here, she gave us an early Christmas gift - a Wii. You can guess what we spent a lot of time doing while she was here! :)
For Halloween, we had Declan the Dementor (from Harry Potter), Megan as Snake Eyes (from GI Joe), and Declan as Buzz Lightyear. The kids had fun trick-or-treating in the neighborhood!
Our Megan is eight now. She had some friends over for a birthday sleepover. It was our first time hosting seven second graders on a sleepover. The girls were great and all had a great time!
Both Megan and Declan went on camping trips over the last couple of weekends. Declan went with the cub scouts and Megan went with the adventure princesses. Here are a few pics from their adventures.
The last leg of our summer vacation was at the beach in Perdido Key, Florida. It was great! This was the kids' first trip to a "real" beach. Megan loved going out into the gulf. Declan liked playing at the shoreline in the waves. Ryan liked playing in the sand. Rob and I liked to sit out on the patio and listen to the ocean. It was definitely a relaxing way to finish out our trip.
We celebrated Declan's 6th birthday in Disney World this year. Disney has become a tradition on sixth birthdays. The birthday dinner was at Chef Mickeys where his cake came in a pirate treasure chest.
Uncle Danny, Hannah, Connor, and Carleigh are visiting us this week. We've been busy swimming, playing RockBand, going to movies, and going to baseball games. We're having a lot of fun! Here are a couple of pictures from the week so far.
Declan is now in modified coach pitch baseball, and every once in a while, he hits the pitch from the coach. It usually happens after the coach hits Declan with the ball first, but nonetheless...Rob says this video should be set to Benny Hill music.
He also got to play his favorite position this game - catcher.
Uncle Kevin, Aunt Silke, Finn, and Alina came to visit us this weekend from Colorado. They barely made it out of Colorado before the blizzard hit. The kids are all having a great time playing together!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! We took a trip to the Dallas aquarium this morning and then had lunch at Delaney's Irish Pub with Grandma Betty Bates. It's warm and sunny here, so we're thinking of spending some time outside this afternoon!
Grandma Betty Bates came back with me from Alabama for a visit this weekend. Aunt Bev flew in a few days later. They were able to see Megan's soccer game and Megan/Declan's basketball games while they were here. Declan told me that Grandma should be my daughter rather than my mother since she is smaller than me. There he goes with that 5-year old logic again.
Here is a video of Megan at her basketball game last weekend. She steals the pass from the other team and takes it down the court. After a few (4 to be exact) missed shots, Megan takes the last shot and scores right before the buzzer.
Happy New Year everyone!! We started out 2009 with Declan trying out his new golf clubs...
Ryan trying his hand on the piano...
And Megan as the lead singer on a Rock Band song (Rob is the drummer, and Declan is lounging on the couch in the background). **Pause the music on this blog, so you can hear these videos when you play them.
