Summer Vacation Part II

We drove up to see Bev and Bill's place near Guntersville. It's nice and peaceful out there. The area is really pretty. These first two pictures are different views of Lake Guntersville. The kids thought the chickens were pretty neat. Fresh eggs really do taste better if anyone is wondering. (Thanks for giving up your bedroom Bev).

Bev and Bill don't live too far from Tricia, so we also had dinner with her and her family, got to ride in their RV (which the kids thought was really cool), and had a really great time telling old stories and catching up. Tricia can still make me laugh so hard that I cry. Between the two of us, we have five kids! We actually got them all in one spot and looking in the same general direction for a picture!
This was our last night in Alabama. The next post will chronicle our visit to Mammoth Cave National Park!

2800 Miles

We're back from our summer vacation! We logged about 2800 miles, 9 states, and 350 digital pictures over 12 days. We had a great time and got to see a lot of people that we have been missing!

Our first stop was to see my parents in Alabama. It was great to celebrate Father's Day in person with my Dad. That doesn't happen very often. Aunt Bev and Uncle Bill drove down from North Alabama to see us too. We also brought Grandma Betty Bates with us to get Ryan's first haircut! She's probably still recovering from the trauma. Ryan did not enjoy the experience. Here is his immediate reaction to being put in the chair followed by a picture of him in the van afterwards wondering what happened to his long locks.

Here's a great pic of Grandma and Grandpa with Megan, Declan, and Ryan outside one of the many Cracker Barrel restaurants we went to on our trip.

We also got to spend some time with Grandpa Huff while we were in Alabama. Grandma Teri was out of town, and we were bummed that we missed seeing her. We had dinner out one night with Grandpa, and Ryan liked his meal so much, that he did this...

The next stop was North Alabama to see Bev and Bill's place and also to see my friend Tricia and her family!

Bath Time

Ryan really loves to take a bath. Here's proof.
(Don't forget to pause the music on the right, so
you can hear the video.)
