Peace on Earth

Ryan (age 4): Mom, Do you know what Dad wants for Christmas?
Mom: No, what does he want?
Ryan: He wants Peace on Earth.
Mom: Really?
Ryan: Yeah, but Santa's elves don't make Peace on Earth.

Ryan's First Sport - September 2010

And...it's soccer. He and Avery (seen here) pretty much spent all their time on the field together holding hands on their own little play date. At the end of this season, Ryan decided he was done. He said, "I like the snacks and the high fives but not really the soccer."

First Day of School - August 2010

All three kids were in school this year. Megan in third grade, Declan in second grade and Ryan in Pre-K 3!

Summer Vacation 2010

We had originally planned a trip to Perdido Key Beach, but after the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, we changed directions and went to the Great Smokey Mountains instead. While we were in the Pigeon Forge area, we also went to Dollywood.

We stopped in Alabama on the way, and the kids got to be in the Prattville, AL 4th of July Parade with G-ma and G-pa Huff!

Declan's Birthday!

This year, Declan celebrated his birthday
with a party at the Lego store. Buddy-bud is 7!

June 2010

In June, Megan played softball for the Crush and went to soccer camp. And Ryan made some friends.

In May 2010, Megan made her First Communion and Declan debuted on his first flag football team.

We celebrated Ryan's third birthday at the river over spring break!

Spring Break

We spent the first part of spring break with the Allgoods and the Rossignos in a house on the Brazos river. The weather was perfect and we had a great time.

Snow!

We have had a lot of snow (by TX standards) this winter. About 10 inches fell on this day in February. The kids had a blast building snowmen and snow forts and sledding!

Christmas 2009

I know, I'm behind on blogging, but better late than never, right? Christmas was wonderful. We even got snow on Christmas Eve!

Declan on ESPN radio

Well, kind of...The boy scouts went on a field trip to the local ESPN radio station. The boys got to be on the radio during the Galloway and Company show.

Plano Christmas Parade and Boy Scout Hiking

Megan and her Adventure Princess group rode on a float in the annual Plano Christmas parade this year.

At the same time, Declan went on a hike with his Boy Scout pack.

Not sure how we will divide up once Ryan starts having his own set of activities!

Visit from Aunt Kathy

Aunt Kathy came to visit us in November. It was great to have her in Texas. While she was here, she gave us an early Christmas gift - a Wii. You can guess what we spent a lot of time doing while she was here! :)

Halloween

For Halloween, we had Declan the Dementor (from Harry Potter), Megan as Snake Eyes (from GI Joe), and Declan as Buzz Lightyear. The kids had fun trick-or-treating in the neighborhood!

Megan's Birthday

Our Megan is eight now. She had some friends over for a birthday sleepover. It was our first time hosting seven second graders on a sleepover. The girls were great and all had a great time!

Camping

Both Megan and Declan went on camping trips over the last couple of weekends. Declan went with the cub scouts and Megan went with the adventure princesses. Here are a few pics from their adventures.

Betty's Birthday

We celebrated my Mom's 80th birthday on Labor Day. This was only the first round of cake!

Beach

The last leg of our summer vacation was at the beach in Perdido Key, Florida. It was great! This was the kids' first trip to a "real" beach. Megan loved going out into the gulf. Declan liked playing at the shoreline in the waves. Ryan liked playing in the sand. Rob and I liked to sit out on the patio and listen to the ocean. It was definitely a relaxing way to finish out our trip.
